Probably Going to Lose the Hand

Yesterday, I was baking me up some sourdough bread (because I'm a domestic diva), and my pot holder slipped. (Not so diva.)

My hand came into contact with my dutch oven. Which was about 450 degrees hot at the time. (That was the oven temperature, and we all know how awesome dutch ovens are at conducting heat. If you don't, ask me -- I have first hand experience.*)

Needless to say, I swore. A lot.

Thankfully, it happened when I was pulling the loaf out of the oven; unfortunately, I had one more loaf to bake. During which my thumb decided it would be a good idea to find a hole in the knitted potholder so that my thumb could find its way to the metal rack in the oven.

I swore a lot, again. (Did I mention the oven was blazing hot?!)

Spent the rest of the day with a cool compress on my right hand. I'm probably going to lose it.

*Pun intended, you're welcome.

Heheh. I don't know if I would have thought it was for real.
